Programme

Our routine speaker programme starts in September each year and normally runs through to April the following year. Meetings consist of an Illustrated Talk, Lecture or Demonstration, with plants and garden sundries for sale or a display of seasonal plants. Talks normally begin at 7.30pm, with doors open at 7pm. We normally have a few notices of forthcoming events etc and then the talk can last 1hr to 1 hr 15mins, sometimes with a break half-way through. Meetings are usually concluded by 9.15 -9.30pm. Entry to these meetings is free to any Plant Heritage Member from across the UK with a membership card. Guests or visitors are genuinely welcome for £5.00 or Students just £3.00. Admission includes free tea, coffee and biscuits; sometimes homemade cakes are available for a small charge.

Our meeting venue is the Dorford Centre in the centre of Dorchester (DT1 1RR), it is very easy to find and, as our meetings don’t start until 7pm, you can park in the large public carpark opposite free from 6pm. The main hall is very large and equipped with large screens, audio system and a hearing loop. Very occasionally we use a smaller room which can accommodate 40 people.
